We are proud and excited to announce that the 2008 Guys Can Cook Too will be held at the SRJC Warren G. Dutton, Jr. Agricultural Pavilion. This absolutely beautiful venue amidst Russian River vineyards allows us to comfortably expand our popular culinary cook-off to over 800 attendees.

What's new this year!

  • Top Amateur Chef award of $ 1,000 and cash prizes for individual categories.
  • Each amateur chef will have his or her own six-foot table to decorate.
  • Guests, amateur chefs, celebrity chefs, and wineries are in one great room with seating for all.

What does an amateur chef do?

  • You must love to eat, drink and make merry!
  • Prepare enough for 500 heaping tablespoons.
  • Submit your application with a description of your entry before May 30, 2008
  • Submit recipe (optional) before May 30, 2008.
  • Bring your dish ready to serve using health and safety guidelines for preparation.
  • Bring your own serving platters, ladles, tongs, etc
  • Themed decorated six-foot stations are encouraged and an award given.

Additional Information

  • There are four entry categories: Appetizers, Main, Sides, and Desserts.
  • Top Amateur Chef will be judged by celebrity chefs for the $1000 award.
  • Each of the four categories will receive cash prizes.
  • Each Amateur Chef can bring along one sous chef (assistant).
  • You will receive details about food rules and regulations and judging criteria for Top Amateur Chef upon registration
